This is how I help you
What you can expect from a consultation
Examination
An interview and physical examination will create a clear picture of your challenges and pain issues, which will be the foundation for a tailor-made treatment plan, so you can obtain the best possible outcome.
Treatment
If the examination finds it safe and relevant the treatment will include manuel treatment such as joint manipulation and mobilization, as well as techniques aimed at muscles and connective tissue.
The purpose with the techniques is to provide pain relief, and so it will be easier for you to be active again.
The treatment can also contain advice and guidance regarding physical activity, pain management and sleep. If relevant other experts will be involved e.g. doctor, psychologist or dietican.
Guidance
You will leave the consultation with a simple manageable plan, which describes how you can improve your situation and maintain your improvement going forward.
The plan is made specific to you and your day, so it is easy and motivating to follow during a busy week.
The plan should help improve your quality of life, so you can do the things you enjoy.

About osteopathy
If osteopathy is new to you, then read more about it here.
Osteopath is an authorized health profession (just like doctor, nurse, chiropractor and physiotherapist).
An osteopath uses his hands to examine and perform manual techniques. The techniques can be joint manipulations and mobilization, as well as techniques aimed at muscles and connective tissue. The purpose is to provide pain relief, so it will be easier for you to be active again.
In addition to the manual treatment, an osteopath also provides advice and guidance, e.g. in relation to pain, sleep, diet and exercise. This is to ensure you have the best possible foundation for overcoming your issues.
An osteopath helps infants, children and adults with pain and problems in the musculoskeletal system, but also people who have problems with the organ system. For example, it can be people with:
It depends on your situation, and it is always easiest to assess after the first treatment. Most often, one treatment is not enough – especially if you have been dealing with the challenges for a long time.
There are also cases where other professionals are needed to help you. My extensive experience with different health professions means that I can help you find the relevant people. It is important to me that we find the best help for you.
Both chiropractic and osteopathy originate from the United States, and emerged around the same time. The two professions have in common that both a chiropractor and an osteopath use their hands to examine and treat the patient (manual examination/treatment).
Both forms of treatment use mobilization and manipulation (“cracking”) of joints, as well as soft tissue treatment (e.g. massage and stretching) of muscles, tendons and connective tissue. The manual treatment aims to remove and relieve pain.
Both osteopaths and chiropractors provide guidance on areas such as exercise, movement, and pain management. In some cases, osteopaths also offer advice on nutrition, sleep, and stress.
The main difference between a chiropractor and an osteopath is that the chiropractor’s primary focus is the musculoskeletal system (muscles and joints), while an osteopath in addition to the musculoskeletal system also focuses on the organ system, and also sees patients with, for example, digestive and breathing problems. Osteopaths emphasize a holistic approach to treatment.
A consultation with an osteopath is often of longer duration (30-60 minutes), whereas with some chiropractors it is shorter.
Both a physiotherapist and an osteopath use their hands to examine and treat the patient (manual examination/treatment).
Both forms of treatment use soft tissue treatment (e.g. massage and stretching) of muscles, tendons and connective tissue, as well as mobilization of joints. Osteopaths are also trained in manipulation (“cracking”) of joints, where physiotherapists only use this form of treatment if they have been trained in it.
One of the major differences between a physiotherapist and osteopath is that a physiotherapist’s primary focus is the musculoskeletal system (muscles and joints), as well as the circulatory system (heart/lung), while an osteopath in addition to the musculoskeletal system and circulatory system, also has knowledge of the other organ systems in the body. For example, osteopaths also see patients with, for example, digestive problems. Osteopaths emphasize a holistic approach to treatment.
A significant part of physiotherapy is exercise, and physiotherapists often helps individuals in rehabilitating their physical condition after injuries. Here, osteopathy is generally less exercise-oriented. At Billund Osteopathy you will meet an osteopath and physiotherapist, and therefore the best treatment from both educations.
What makes my approach unique is my background as an osteopath, sports physiotherapist, and physiotherapist, complemented by further education in pain management.
With my skills as a osteopath and physiotherapist, I can carry out a holistic and thorough examination of you. With the knowledge we have today, we know that both physique (e.g. tissue strength and flexibility) and psyche (stress, thoughts/worries, sleep, mood, etc.) are factors that should be taken into account when a person has injuries and/or pain.
As an osteopath and physiotherapist, I also have the skills to use my hands for manual examination and treatment. The purpose of the manual treatment is to provide pain relief, so it will be easier for you to be active again.
We all strive for a body that doesn’t hold us back, allowing us to engage in the activities we love, be it work, hobbies, sports, or quality time with loved ones. As a sports physiotherapist and with education in the field of pain, I have the tools to help you strengthen your body, and give you the skills to better understand and manage pain, so that your body limits you as little as possible.
My goal is not just to help you manage pain and injuries in the short term, but also to equip you with the tools to take care of yourself in the long run. The better you can manage on your own, the better I have done my job.
No, there is no subsidy from the government for osteopathy.
At Billund Osteopathy, physiotherapy is also a service that is offered. But since I am a specialized physiotherapist and do not have an “healthcare provider number” (agreement with the public sector)(in danish: et ydernummer), no subsidies are given from the public sector. If your are a member of Sygeforsikringen “danmark” you can get subsidies for both osteopathy and physiotherapy. This covers some of the costs of treatment.
A large number of insurance companies also cover physiotherapy at clinics without a “healthcare provider number” as well as osteopathic treatment. Check your insurance policy (private or work) to see if it provides coverage.
If you are a member of Sygeforsikringen “danmark”, you can receive subsidies for both osteopathy and physiotherapy. These subsidies cover part of the treatment costs. On the website sygeforsikring.dk, you can see what Sygeforsikringen “danmark” provides in subsidies and read about the applicable conditions.
In addition, a number of insurance companies also cover osteopathic treatment. Check your insurance policy (private or work) and see if they cover.
If you use your health insurance, please note the following:
Note: No subsidies are provided by the public health insurance.
